“Blue Sapphire” is a horticultural name used for a variegated Scindapsus circulating in the international plant trade. Its botanical identity has not been established in the documentation located for this entry.

An Indonesian specialist seller lists the plant under the trade name Scindapsus Blue Sapphire and reports that it arose as a mutation of a plant called Scindapsus Eclipse Albo. Independent documentation confirming this lineage, identifying the original mother plant, or recording the mutation when it occurred has not been located. The Eclipse Albo connection is therefore best treated as a supplier-reported claim rather than established parentage.

Plants circulated as Blue Sapphire are shown with irregular pale variegation across green foliage. The expression may include cream to white areas distributed unevenly across the leaf blade. Available documentation is currently too limited to determine whether a particular pattern or morphology consistently distinguishes all plants circulating under the name.

The original grower or selector, date of introduction, naming circumstances, and geographic origin of Blue Sapphire have not been established. Although the name is documented in Indonesian horticultural trade, this does not by itself demonstrate that the plant originated in Indonesia.

Blue Sapphire is therefore best treated as a horticultural / trade name with presently limited documented provenance. Its reported connection to Eclipse Albo remains unverified, and its botanical identity, original lineage, and naming history remain open to further documentation.
