The Variegated Greens Lexicon is a living vocabulary of observation and plant terminology. It brings together words that help describe what the eye encounters in variegated foliage, along with botanical and horticultural terms that help us better understand the plants themselves.
Some words describe colour, markings, transitions, and expression. Others describe parts of the plant, how it grows, how it reproduces, or terminology we encounter within horticulture and the plant community.
These words are not intended to impose rigid classifications upon Mother Nature or to correct how others choose to speak. They are simply tools for looking more closely, understanding more clearly, and describing what we observe with greater precision.
