Variegated Greens is a small, hands-on plant business. The living plants shown throughout the Store Grove are real plants that I grow, care for, observe and photograph myself.
Like many small-business owners, I use technology to help manage the many different parts of what I do. This includes artificial intelligence as an assistive tool for tasks such as organizing information, research assistance, refining written material and helping me communicate my ideas more clearly.
AI does not grow my plants, make observations for me, photograph my inventory or determine what Variegated Greens considers accurate. Those responsibilities remain with me.
Material created with AI assistance is reviewed by me before I publish it. I remain responsible for the words, claims and decisions that appear under the Variegated Greens name.
When I publish educational or plant-related material — particularly Exploration Scrolls, reference pages and research-based writing — I do not treat an AI-generated answer as evidence simply because AI produced it. I aim to trace factual claims to credible available sources, distinguish documented information from inference, uncertainty and my own observations, and revise material when better evidence becomes available.
My observational expression names and plant descriptions begin with the plants themselves — with what I see developing leaf by leaf in the Grove. Technology may help me find the words, but the observation comes first.
I understand that people have different views about artificial intelligence and may choose to use — or not use — these tools themselves. I respect those choices. I simply believe in being transparent about mine.
Ultimately, technology is one of the tools I use to help operate a small business. The cultivation, care, photography, observations, judgment and responsibility for what Variegated Greens publishes remain human.
